We finally got here! We arrived yesterday morning at about 11 Melbourne time - 6 pm at home. We unfortunately had some trouble with our luggage - it got lost at some point, so we had to deal with that for a while, but by about 12:30, we got out to meet our YWAM contact. He was there with another girl, Ilsa, who is from Vancouver, and actually on our same flight from Sydney. We then all waited for another student, Eliza. Once we found everyone, we headed back to the base, which was about 45 min. away from the airport. The base is an old orphanage about 20 min outside of the city. We all got settled, met some of the staff, who are really cool, and walked down to an area of town with several small shops. It seems like a really cool area. Later in the night, the staff who will be heading up Jordan's DTS made us dinner, and we talked to them for quite a while about the DTS and Melbourne and their experiences. They seem like really cool people, and I'm really excited for Jordan, it's going to be a great group.
Today, Jordan and I went into the city and walked around for a few hours. The downtown area is a lot of fun, and has a ton of stuff to do and see. There's a river that runs through the middle and a lot of little cafes and shops in that area. I'll probably have a lot more time to explore in the next few days, and there definitely won't be a shortage of things to do!
Everything's going well so far, except for the luggage that's MIA. Hopefully it's come in today!

Thank youfor all of your support, I will keep you updated!
God bless,

We are thrilled for you! It sounds like you are off to a good start, except for the luggage. We'll pray it finds its way to you , unscathed, soon. We look forward to hearing about your experiences--God bless you both, you are in our prayers. Love, Dad
I just left you a long blog which managed to vanish as I was establishing my name, password, etc! Aaakk!
Main ideas: PTL you're there safely and luggage is found. Great that Melbourne is so interesting. Midsummer there, right? Not here! -15 this a.m.
More another time.
Hope this doesn't vanish too!
