We're a day and a half into our 3rd official week here in Adelaide, and it promises to be another good one. Last week our speaker, Paul Wilcox, spoke on sin and repentance, which wasn't as scary as it sounds. God showed me alot last week - some through the lectures and some through just him speaking to me. It was so great! I've felt that I need to commit to God my future, to say "yes" to his plan, though I don't yet know what that is. Now that I've asked him for his will for my life, I am so excited to see where he brings me and what he shows me about my destiny. We're actually talking about that some this week, but I'll get to that later. Anyway, last Friday, we had a big ministry time of confession and repentance, and then embracing the truth that God gave us through his forgiveness. Many people, including myself, gave up sins to God, realized lies we were believing and saw that we needed to let go of things that had happened in the past. It was an amazing time of healing, though very draining. During that time both Paul (the speaker) and Pablo (our DTS leader), prayed for me and gave me words from God, which were very encouraging. There are such amazing people of God here!
We spent the weekend kind of recovering and relaxing. Saturday I caught up with my family and Jordan on the phone and worked on some of our homework. Sunday, we went to a great church called the Edge, where the message was also about destiny, and really good. I've seen that as a recurring theme lately, and I think that God is going to show me some cool things in the coming weeks.
This week the topic is The Father Heart of God, and the speaker is Steve Ahearn, who is the national YWAM director for Aussie. His teaching style is very different, but very good. He really makes you think and come to your own conclusions, instead of just giving you information. He actually isn't approaching the topic as I expected, but I like how he does it. He's been saying that Jesus knew the heart of God, and that's how he did everything he did on earth, and so we can look at Jesus' life and see what the Father is like ("You have seen me, and so you've seen the Father"). He's also said that we can have that relationship with the Father, just like Jesus did. The other interesting thing that he's talked about is that Jesus was truly fully human while on earth - he didn't have any of his "God powers". And so, he heard from the Father the same way we do, he didn't have any extra advantage, or know anything God didn't reveal to him. That might not make sense, as we just had this teaching an hour ago, and I still am processing and feel like my head's going to explode! Just a little taste of what we're learning!
One other news note: we are in the early stages of preparing for our outreach to Uruguay, and are hoping to pay for our plane tickets by tomorrow. I should have enough to cover it, though my final paycheck from work wasn't as much as I had expected. Anyways, long story short, I'm doing ok, but if you do feel it on your heart to give any more financial support, you can donate through the website: ywamsa.org.au. I trust that God will provide, and am not desperate at all! I wanted to make that available, though, if you felt that God wanted you to give in any way! Thanks again for all that you have already given to get me here!
Other than that, thanks again for your love and prayers! Right now, my only prayer request is that I would get everything God has for me - there is so much information coming at me. Also, that he would speak to me, in his timing, his plans for my future and that I would hear him and continue to have a willing heart for all he asks me to do. I am so excited to discover what that is!
I love and miss you all!
God bless you for your support
