Two weeks to go!

Hey all! I'll be hopefully posting here regularly.

I'm leaving on Jan 31st to go to Adelaide, Australia for a YWAM DTS. There I'll be seeking and learning about God, then going on an outreach after the first 3 months. I am super excited!

As far as travel plans go, Jordan and I are leaving in the afternoon of the 31st, and 3 stops and over 24 hours later, we will arrive in Melbourne, which is where his base is. Because of the time difference, it will be the morning of Feb 2nd. Jordan's DTS starts the 4th, so hopefully he and I will be able to travel around the city some, and he'll be able to get settled. I will probably stay in Melbourne until the 7th, when I will meet up with a couple other students from my DTS, and we will all take a bus over to Adelaide - which is about a 12 hour trip. We'll get there the morning of the 8th, and our school starts that afternoon! Hopefully the couple days in Melbourne will give me a chance to rest some before the crazyness of the next 5 months!

If you would like to know how to pray for me at this point, here's what's been on my heart:

- That I would be preparing myself spiritually - I've found myself very distracted with the logistics of everything, and I haven't been spending enough time preparing myself for the real reason I'll be there

- Finances, especially for Jordan. I am basically set in this department, if everything I anticipate comes in, but Jordan still needs a pretty big chunk. We're trusting God to get him there, though! Also, for wisdom in how I manage my finances while I am there, so I don't get myself into any trouble :)

- For both of us while we're gone - that we would find a healthy balance, and not become a distraction for each other. God has put us in a very good situation, in that we're far enough away to hopefully be focusing on ourselves, but at least close enough to be able to keep in contact. Please pray that God would give us wisdom, and that we would both get everything we are supposed to out of this.

- The relationships I'll make with the people on my team. I've made contact with everyone via email, and will be traveling with a couple of them (who are from Wisconsin, actually!). It seems like it will be a great group - please pray that God would bring us together into a community that honors him
